Chapter 9

After about an hour of wandering around the crowded party Jen realized that no one was drinking any alcoholic beverages. As she was looking around the room rather puzzled as to where her beer went she recognized a familiar face. It was the one of the short nerdy man that had asked him for directions to a Starbucks earlier that day. She decided to waltz over and introduce herself. Partly because she wanted to make friends, and partly because he was standing next to a particularly handsome man. Who at 6 feet  towered over the nerdy little fellow.

If she had to rat on the scale of one to ten he would get an eight point five. He had the most perfect black hair that was long and shaggy but still looked perfectly groomed. He was wearing black thick rimmed glasses that complemented his vibrant green eyes. To top it all off he had one of those kind of half beards, the “I haven’t shaved in like three days but it still looks good” look that gets a guy onto the cover of Men’s Heath magazine.

As she approached the turned to the short fellow not to seem too intrigued by this stranger. Just as she was about to introduce herself he spun around to directly face her and nearly bumped into her.

Chapter 8

As Jen Cole watched her parents drive into the distance from her bedroom window, she began to think Finally! I’m free, This should be fun. She changed out of the very old, out-of-style and dorky sweater and dress pants, that her parents always wanted her to wear, into a lime green tank-top and blue jeans. After changing, Jen heard some noises coming from outside her dorm room window. Once she looked out to see where the noises were coming from, she saw 3 guys tossing around a frisbee. Jen always loved frisbee so she decided to go outside and ask if she could play with them. The 3 guys let her play with them for about 2 hours then had to leave but as they where leaving, one of the guys said:

“Hey! You seem pretty cool, why don’t you come with ous to this cool party tonight?”

“Sure! Even though I don’t know you guys to well, I will” Jen replied.

So Jen and the three guys walked over to the dorm where the party was being held. On the entrance door of the party it said “BYOB” which ment ” Bring your own bear”. Jen thought she may want a few drinks at the party so she decided to run to the licor store just down the road from the campus. An hour  later Jen returned with  3 cases of booze.  She just  sat the cases down on a table in the party and it was pretty much all gone in five minutes.

Chapter 7

Lawrence instantly recognized this Jamie fellow as the jerk he bumped into this morning. His broad shoulders and large lips on his dark African face were unmistakable. Lawrence assumed only one parent was black, due to the fact that he did have some rather American looking features. He was wearing a blue Abercrombie  t-shirt that was far too tight. He assumed it must be to show off his muscles, it was doing a pretty good job. Jared must have noticed as well because he muttered so only Lawrence could hear

“He’s a tiny bit, vain, can you tell?”

Jamie scanned the face of this new friend of Jared’s. He had an  sort of quirkyness  that made him seem like he was hiding something either very funny or  very terrible. He could has sworn that he had seen him once before, perhaps around campus. He figured he might as well ask,

“Have I seen you around campus?”

“You…um, uh…..we live in the same building.”  Blurted Lawrence in reply
Jared just chuckled and thought to him self about how much Lawrence will open up after a few partys. Everyone does.

Chapter 6

The second Jared and Lawrence entered the room, everyone looked at them and yelled:

“Hey! It’s Jared!”

Apparently Jared is quite the popular guy around campus. Jared said a few Hellos and continued on. About five minutes had past and Jared still hadn’t introduced Lawrence to anyone but then Jared said:

“Lawrence I want you to meet my little sister, Sandy Hudson”

“Hey! Nice to meet you” The girl said.

“Like wise” Lawrence replied

While Jared and Sandy where discussing their classes to come, Lawrence realized quite fast that Jared and her look quite alike. Sandy was about six and a half feet tall, brown hair in a ponny tail, blue eyes and bright white teeth. while Lawrence was studying Sandy’s facial features, Sandy said:

“Oh Lawrence. I want you to meet my boyfriend, his name is Jamie Patrick.”

Chapter 5

At 9:00 just when Jared was putting away his guitar, he heard a noise. Lawrence didn’t hear it at first, but it grew loud enough to hear clearly. It was a deep booming sound of a very loud bass from a very loud song.

“Sounds like the party’s started” Jared grinned

“I Think I heard about that this afternoon” replied Lawrence

“Do you wannna go check it out? I can introduce you to a few of my friends!” Asked Jared

“I’d love too!” beamed Lawrence

Lawrence was more than happy to get out his stuffy room for a couple hours. He was rather nervous to meet new people though. He wanted to make the best possible impression on these new people. Lawrence dreaded the thought of going through college being known as the socially awkward kid that screwed up at the first party.
Lawrence and Jared walked across the cool grass toward the common room that was across the cobblestone courtyard. They could see the lights of the party flashing to the beat of the song. The damp grass left water droplets from the mornings rain their shoes.
They started running toward the pulsing beat of, what was for Lawrence a new beginning. It wasn’t everyday that they had such excitement running through their veins. They were about to have the most exhilarating and confusing night in a long time.

Chapter 4

Jared didn’t know how to react by this nerdy man so he got up, put out his hand and said:
“Hey man, my name’s Jared”
The short nerdy man set down his coffies, put out his little skinny hand and shook Jared’s hand while saying:
“I’m Lawrence, your new room mate”

Jared wasn’t expecting a room mate like Lawrence at all but he soon realized that he was much better then his old one. Jared and Lawrence talked a bit but not to much on the count of Jared was still not done unpacking. When he was finished emptying his suitcases, Jared pulled a guitar case out from under the bed. When Lawrence saw that guitar case, the first thing that came to mind was “Oh god! Now I’ll be up all night listening to this guy play“. Once Jared saw Lawrence’s eyes widen at the site of his guitar case, he said:
“Listen man, I kind of get the idea that your studies are importent to you so I probably wont play guitar past 9 oclock. Does that sound fair?”
Lawrence was istonish at how nice and fair this guy was. Well he’s not just any guy now, he’s his room mate.
“That sounds great man! i really appreciate it.” Lawrence said. “I usually stay up late anyway.”
Jared kind of chuckled and said:
“Oh yeah? And why is that now?”
“Well, I’m sort of a coffee drinker.”
“Who isn’t these dyas?” Jared said as a joke.
“No man, you don’t understand…….I drink coffee. A lot!”
“Ah, that would explain the 2 cups of coffee behind you” Jared said as he continued playing guitar.

Chapter 3

It was exactly 5:32 when Jared Hudson stepped into his dorm room for the first time. He knew it was 5:32 because there was a small alarm clock sitting on the bedside table. The curious thing was, that the room didn’t come with clock. Which means that his roommate had arrived. He dreaded thinking about the possibility of having a weird roommate. Last year, in his first year of collage, he had a roommate the was obsessed with anything to do with he devil. He practiced occult rituals and canted at night. Although this individual seemed to be much less odd, it did appear that he had a great love for science (judging by the stack of National Geographic magazines on his bed). He also discovered that he had no immediate family. Due to the fact that just about every first year collage student put up pictures of their family and friends the moment they got to there room. But this student had none.

“Its amazing what you can learn about a person just by looking at their room” he muttered to himself

Jared was a second year psychology student, and had top grades on three of his classes last year. He could tell about your home life by looking at the way you make your bed. If you neatly make your bed you typically come from a household with very strict parents.

Jared noticed that exactly 48 minutes had passed since he had walked into the room. Its was just one minute after that, the door of his room swung open to show a short rather nerdy looking man holding two cups off coffee, looking rather awkward and confused.

Chapter 2

Lawrence opened the door to his new room, steped in and noticed that his room was quite small. All that was in his room was a bed, work desk, dresser and a very small closet. Lawrence droped his stuff off in his room and decided to take a walk around to familiarize himself with the campus. While out for his walk, Lawrence remembered that he needed to pick up his school books. He had received a science scholarship for having the best grades out of his whole school. So Lawrence walked over to the campus store and picked his physics, chemistry and biology text books. After he picked his books he decided, since there was nothing better to do, to go back to his dorm room and unpack.

While he was walking back to his room, Lawrence over heard some people talking about a big party or something. He couldn’t quite understand but that’s probably because he was about 10 or 15 feet away.
About 4 hours had past and Lawrence had been done unpacking for a bit now. Lawrence always had a big addiction to coffee and later that day he had heard about a Starbucks being on campus. So Lawrence made the decision to leave his small room and try to find the Starbucks. About 15 minutes had past and he still didn’t have a clue where this so called Starbucks was. Lawrence was getting kind of mad at the fact that he couldn’t find this coffee shop so he stoped and asked dirrections from some girl. He only saw her from behind but when he got close enough to her ask she turned around. She was so beautiful that Lawrence was stuned, he couldn’t get a word out.
“Can I help you?” The girl asked with a very happy tone of voice.
The only words Lawrence could get out where.
“Yeah……..uh…Starbucks?”
The girl chuckled a little bit and said:
“I’m sorry I don’t know may way around here very well but I saw a map just around the corner”

Chapter 1

There were two times in Lawrences Hendrix life that he felt truly alone. The first, was the day of his mothers death, he was 13 years old and it was an accident. That was all he would say about it, that it was an “accident”. The second was his first day of collage, when he realized, he had no life, friends or anything close to him in Colorado.
His first day was not to be described as bad, just not the way he expected. He saw him self stepping onto campus for the first time beaming at the sunny bright future that awaited that awaited him. Only to meet up with high school friends to catch up on summer memories. Instead he stepped out of a dirty Grey Hound bus into a massive puddle, soaking his sneakers and the cuffs of his hand-me-down slacks. Cursing to him self he hauled his rather small duffel bag that contained his few possessions and second hand clothes toward his dorm.
It was a stout brick rather sturdy looking building. Which came to not surprise due to the fact that just all about of the buildings on the campus looked nearly the same, short and made of brick. As Lawrence walked in to the long musty hallway that led to his room. He nearly bumped into a tall brawly man, that looked to be football player.
“Get the eff out of my way idiot” he muttered on his way by.
“Does this jersey make me look frat?” Lawrence mocked under his breath
“what did you say?” growled the jock
“nothing, I didn’t say anything” replied Lawrence feeling somewhat emasculated
After a about ten minutes of searching through the maze that is the hallways of his dorm he at long last he found his room. Number B-118, which is ironically his fathers cell block number. But of course Lawrence didn’t know that, he never knew his father, nor did he want to.
